rust-VN is a visual novel creation tool built in Rust around a node-based editor. Connect dialogue, choices, characters and scenes, design your game’s menus, then export your story for desktop or the web.

rust-VN is actively being developed. Expect rough edges, keep backups of your projects, and help improve the editor by reporting problems.

When reporting a bug, please include your operating system, the application version, steps to reproduce the issue, and a screenshot or log when possible.

Licensing

The runtime engine is open source under the MIT license. The editor is distributed under its own proprietary license.

You can distribute or sell games created with rust-VN without paying rust-VN royalties, subject to the included license terms and the licenses of any components and media you use. Third-party credits and notices are included with the distribution.
